Aorewa Creative is a rangatahi lead production company based in Rotorua.
As digital natives who grew up with technology, the kaihāpai (founders) understand how digital storytelling can be utilized to amplify the voices, lived experiences and initiatives of people across Aotearoa whānui. We also aspire to work alongside our other indigenous storytellers across the Pacific.
Aorewa Creative are a collective of innovative young digital natives.
We are passionate about creating content that amplifies Te Reo Māori, Kaupapa Māori or the lived experiences of Māori and indigenous people.
Uenukuterangihoka was brought up in Ōpōtiki within the tribal boundaries of Te Whakatōhea. He is one of 6 siblings, so it should come as no surprise that the importance of whānau and the value of community are qualities Uenuku continues to move with through each milestone in his huarahi (journey). Particularly in his mahi as a indigenous storyteller.
Rangipare was born and bred in Matatā, just outside of Whakatāne. Like many millennial māmā, she wears many pōtae: Operations Manager (sussing Uenuku out lol), kaupapa ā-iwi, creative pursuits etc. She is passionate about all things Te Ao Māori, creativity and indigenous development. Visual communication happens to be one of her favourite vehicles.
